La Rambla, the Gothic Quarter, and the Waterfront

Here on the south side of the large Praca de Catalunya is the start of La Rambla, the main street that runs north-south through the heart of the Gothic Quarter.

It consists of one way streets for cars on each side of a very wide center pedestrian walkway. Always busy.

Early evening when the shopping crowd thins out and the later flow of the dinner crowd not yet started.

Mid afternoon. Good time to walk down La Rambla to the waterfront.

A surprisingly large Praca Reial indented into the gothic surrounds.
